Project Goal/Objective
Girlhood and womanhood are often very challenging times, full of change that continuously makes us question who we really are. Judging based on my family, friends, and I's personal experiences, finding people to resonate with can sometimes bring the greatest comfort. My intention was to create a website that would be a safe space for women to share their experiences of girlhood/womanhood and the transition between the two, with each other. I wanted the UX to be unconventional, inspiring curiosity in its users, accompanied by its visually exciting UI.

Research and Inspiration
My research was prompted in many ways. Considering I had also already been developing my design thesis on this topic, I continuously gathered the connotation that comes with words like girlhood and womanhood, as well as other visuals that could hint at our personal experiences in unique ways. I gathered Pinterest pins of 749 photos, making note of their color palettes and concepts. I additionally gathered designs, either on this topic, or with visuals giving off the idea I wanted my work to embody. The rest of my process also involved sending out a Google Form asking women about their girlhood to womanhood transitions, in order to consolidate on the feelings that come with this particular experience. I was able to gather close to 20 different responses, from which I drew conclusions on factors that contribute to women's negative feelings of their sex and gender experience, as well as consider how that larger community of other women may help combat them.
